Ayatollah Khamenei depicted economy as the most important priority of the Islamic country, underlining the necessity of differentiating between economic woes and the need for lifting sanctions by foreign powers.
The Supreme Leader also stipulated that all capacities of the country should be utilized in order to improve economic situation; thus, the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi stressed that it will continue efforts to finalize negotiations on revival of the 2015 nuclear deal along with pursuing an economy-oriented strategy.
Iran's newly-appointed Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian underlined that the Islamic Republic is willing to cooperate with emerging economic powers in a bid to improve Iranians' life standard and trade in international level.
Emphasizing on balanced foreign policy, the top diplomat believes that Iran should not focus on a particular geography, and it should have active economic presence in all continents.
Economic diplomacy and international trade will form 40 percent of the foreign policy program of the 13th administration in Iran, Amirabdollahian noted, adding that the policy-makers will focus on developing private sector, non-oil export, tourism industry, food security, and supply of foreign exchange.
Reza Nourian, economic attaché of Iran's embassy in London, argued that Iranian expatriates are one of the valuable assets of the Islamic Republic in other countries, who can play a great role in investing in Iranian economy.
For instance, over 400 thousand Iranians are living in the UK, who are an eye-catching potential asset in this respect, Nourian said.
The expatriates can serve Iran's national interests, he noted, adding that Iranian specialists can contribute to economic projects through providing the country with their technical expertise and also invest in economic sector of the Islamic country.
As to tourism, the diplomat is of the opinion that religious tourism is one of the oldest and the most prosperous sorts of the industry in Iran and throughout the world in recent years, and that the Islamic Republic enjoys great potential to attract foreign tourists to visit different historical and religious monuments.
According to the economic representative, Iran should change its traditional marketing to find new ways such as holding trade exhibitions to sell Iranian products. Of course, attaching great importance to appropriate transport system and declining the costs as well as improving proper packaging in accordance with European standard will help boost foreign exchanges, he argued.
Nourian went on to say that economic diplomacy consists of internal and external levels, adding that domestic economy seems to be more important than foreign economic exchanges, which is a prelude to success in external level.
